Returning the Favor: Protecting Men From Themselves and Their Too-Often Iffy Judgment

Following their God-given nurturing instincts, women legislators are increasingly proposing bills aimed at monitoring sexual health issues for men clearly ill-equipped to make those decisions for themselves. One in Missouri would prohibit vasectomies for men unless it's to save his life or prevent serious physical impairment. The latest generous gesture comes from Ohio Democratic Sen. Nina Turner, whose Bill 307 would require a man seeking erectile dysfunction drugs to provide his doctor with a notarized affidavit from at least one sex partner saying he's had symptoms in the previous 90 days that would justify using the drugs. Turner also wants to rally women in other states to push for similar bills to continue the "dialogue about what is fair and what is equal."

"It is crucial that we take the appropriate steps to shelter vulnerable men from the potential side effects of these drugs ...The men in our lives, including members of the General Assembly, generously devote time to fundamental female reproductive issues.
