Shepherds today still exist. Unlike their European counterparts centuries ago, however, many of the today's American herders are tending human-sheep hybrids with human hearts, brains, livers, and a potpourri of other homo-sapiens attributes. The Greeks called them chimeras: a lion, goat and serpent fused into one animal; author H.G. Wells' named them manimals in his novel "The Island of Dr. Moreau." Some contemporary critics simply refer to biological amalgams as Frankensheep. While genetic research is surging ahead, some people are beginning to get a bit nervous. The ethical aspects of some of the experiments is beginning to blur the once well-defined line between what's morally right and morally wrong.

Sounds kinda interesting. Put some of my genetic material into an animal so that it grows and carries in itself, one of my arms, in case I lose an arm, so that I have one available to be surgically removed from the animal and transplanted onto me.
