Hansen said officers can scan a suspect's finger and palm prints on the devices while entering basic information about them into the system. Other information, such as facial or tattoo photos, also can be retrieved using the device. The results come back in minutes, instead of the hours or days it can take now to identify a suspect. The devices also can scan latent prints left on surfaces. "It really is a fantastic," Hansen said.
