House Passes Tax bill 277-148, Sending Bill To President

The United States House of Representatives has pushed through the Obama-GOP tax-cut deal by a vote of 277-148. The bill will now go to the white house for approval by president Obama. The bill reauthorizes extended unemployment benefits through 2011, meaning more than a million people whose benefits lapsed this month will receive retroactive lump-sum payments within a few weeks.
