You cannot empty the state of illegal fence-jumpers by prosecuting every narco-terrorist drug cartel and human smuggler in Arizona. You send one to jail and one hundred more take their place. To these guys, it is a lucrative means of livelihood, a way of living like how every normal Arizonian live in the state of Arizona.  What prosecution is killing in court is a hydra – cutting off heads and more heads come out. It is like emptying the sea with a spoonful of water into the land hoping that in the long run the effort will succeed.

      We know that at most, it is a staged show. But the whole statistical immigration prosecution hullabaloo is politically expedient, good, say for the Republican governor’s politics. That’s why between a politically correct governor and a politically correct president in Washington, D.C, who are preparing for their legal battle, we have a great road show and it is all a free entertainment to watch.

Since we're a border state, I would expect the numbers to be skewed due to the illegal immigration.  There tables don't break out the numbers of non-immigration numbers nationally.

So, two questions...  What is AZ's percentage of non-immigration cases and is there any data on how much money goes to the state/local-municipality based on these prosecutions? 

And what was the response of Arizona's "leaders?" Apparently, they were dissatisfied it wasn't 100%.
