Tempe Town Lake dam bursts
• Arizona RepublicA section of the inflatable rubber dam that forms Tempe Town Lake exploded shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday, sending a wall of water into the Salt River bed.
The river filled as far as the eye could see within seconds, witnesses reported.
In April 2009, Tempe officials said they intended to ignore a safety recommendation from the makers of Town Lake's rubber dams because sufficient safeguards already were in place to prevent the dams from deflating.

Congratulations to Mayor Hallman on dealing with your transient problem and giving them a bath at the same time. Oh, the humanity! It is just the level of competent service I have come to expect from public leaders.
Gotta love those sirens going off minutes after the wall of water flushes the area clean of waste. Those safety precautions put in place sure were effective.
The Tempe Town Toilet . . . sure will miss you.
