Phoenix finalist for 2012 GOP Convention

• East Valley Tribune

Phoenix has been named one of four finalists for the 2012 Republican National Convention.

Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon says political conventions are big business.

And he says the hard work will now begin as Phoenix prepares for site visits and works on details to accompany the city's pitch for the convention.

Can you imagine the slobbering recriminations if whatever city isn't put under marshal law and Sarah Palin got a hang nail?

To Phil Gordon's credit, even though the stores and pubs will be closed down, taxis will be kept out of the area so at least SOMEBODY would ride the light rail for a week.

Oh, Brock, those were Bush policies of arrests, violence, abuse, suspension of Rights.   Obama promised change.  He wouldn't continue Bush policies, would he?  ;-)

You only need to look at Denver, the Twin Cities, and Pittsburgh in recent history to know how very, very bad this would be for the residents and businesses in Phoenix.

Why not just establish the baseball stadium as the official money burn pit, randomly beat and jail a number of residents, give them large cash settlements years later, smash a bunch of windows downtown, set a few city vehicles on fire, and just say you had a GOP convention there?
