Phoenix City Council considers imposing food tax

• Arizona Republic
Phoenix leaders appear to be coalescing behind a food tax to help fill the city's budget gap, which they learned this week had mushroomed to $245 million.

At least six of the nine City Council members told The Arizona Republic they support or at least are open to the idea of a sales tax on food items purchased at grocery stores and other retailers.

People pay taxes through the natural process of day to day living, but these political clowns apparently don't understand that if people don't eat they die - and if they die they don't pay ANY taxes at all.

Suggestion to nut-zo politicians:  You want money to pay the bills?  STOP SPENDING MORE THAN YOU'RE TAKING IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
