I have read the comments on this issue, The realty is that so many people need to have assistance. I am not afraid to so this me included. I and my family do rely on the food stamp card. unfortunately, the way the economy is I really don`t see me being able to not do with out it. I have no pride if I am entitled to get it I will apply for it. Same for the ahccess and the medical pkg that it offered. When I was working I like a lot of people paid into the system by way of taxes. Now I use it to help my family in need. And as things get worse all over, more good people that have put into the system will draw upon those funds to help ends meet. I don`t care what anyone says,if I am doing all that I can and can`t get the results i need, I have no problem asking for help. I am honest for the help I ask for and if I can get it so beit. If the work that pay`s not there what are you going to do.

Any comment welcome

That's nothing. They've already become part of the black market.

In Arizona it turns out they are exactly like debit cards. You can use them to buy food. This makes them tradable and fungible but the most common thing is for a "stamp" holder is to offer to buy someone groceries in exchange for cash and it's usually something like $100 in groceries for $80 cash. So they are very much a part of the micro-economy of the poor.

Oddly, it seems even this element of free trade seems to help because the value those food stamps is distributed quite efficiently to people who need it. Many more than who are actually on the roles to get them. This would suggest that ACTUAL food stamp usage is in excess of even these figures.

Welcome to post-modern America.

'Americans' - a once proud and independent people now reduced to groveling serfs crawling about with their hands out to the Master for crumbs of bread.
