2 Comments in Response to Ex-agent who ran Nogales ICE office faces drug charges
More proof that the war on drugs is an abject failure. We need to change tactics so that the drug cartels have the $$ motive removed. The drug problem should be considered a medical matter not a criminal one.
There are far to many non violent drug 'offenders' in jails & prisons who should be let out.
This could be done by RE-legalizing all drugs & dispense them through dispensaries. There should also be Consequences Of Use education.
RE-legalizing all illegal drugs & controlling them would take away the profit motive from the drug cartels & eliminate a lot of corruption that has infected law enforcement at many levels.
If we did that being a LEO would be a lot safer. So would be being a private citizen.
