It's risk free money for them. Contribute to an election and you have at best a 50% chance of your "investment" paying off. Contribute to the inauguration and you are guaranteed to be on the good list.

They really should just have the parade down Wall Street instead of Pennsylvania Avenue. Or maybe even in Jerusalem!
