Why Technocrats LOVE The "Green New Deal"

You may have seen "Students Love Green New Deal… Until Hearing What's In It" by now, but if not you probably get the gist just from the title. Yes, it's one of those "man on the street" interview videos where random college students are asked whether they support new progressive superstar Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ("AOC" to those in the cool crowd) and her much-ballyhooed "Green New Deal." And, as you also might be able to guess, the video highlights those eager young idealists who profess their love for the plan . . . until they discover what it actually says.
For those who might have missed it, the Green New Deal made headlines for all the wrong reasons earlier this month when some of its critics picked up on a few of the crazier aspects of the plan. Like the fact that the deal promises economic security to all those who are unable to work (standard fare in the modern nanny state era) and also to all those who are unwilling to work.
Unwilling to work? Really?
Scrambling to do damage control, AOC's team immediately took down the offending post from her website, then claimed that the screenshots of the controversial language came from "doctored" documents that were being placed online by those evil right wingers . . . until it was revealed that archives of the page had been created showing that AOC had indeed posted it to her website. So then they tried to explain away the page by saying that it had only been for internal campaign use (without explaining why that should put anyone's mind at ease).
But try as they might, AOC and her green minions can't dismiss criticisms of their cherished "Green New Deal" as mere knee-jerk opposition from those science-denying, hate-filled Repugs. A score of self-styled leftists, Democrats, progressives and other erstwhile allies in the fight against life-giving carbon dioxide have similarly opined on the ridiculous nature of this plan, from Naomi Wolf to Howard Schultz to Queen Pelosi herself, who provides the money quote: "The green dream or whatever they call it, nobody knows what it is, but they're for it right?"
Now there is no lack of nonsense to roll our eyes at in the proposed "Green New Deal" legislation, from "upgrading all existing buildings in the United States" to creating a zero-emission transportation network to mandating unionization of all jobs in the new green economy (all in the name of the manbearpig boogeyman, of course). But if we dismiss the "Green New Deal" as just another example of political hype or misguided pie-in-the-sky socialism, then we run the risk of missing the bigger story here. Because although this particular plan probably won't come to fruition in the way it's being sold, it does provide a window into our technocratic future.
Yes, the Green New Deal is the same old technocratic dream dressed in a cloak of green. The only question is whether the public are going to take this raw deal, or whether they will reject it. Get all the nitty gritty details in this week's edition of The Corbett Report Subscriber.

Earth to Trump: America Is ALREADY A Socialist Country

So it seems that something in Trump's State of the Union speech has gotten the MAGA crowd all excited.
Was it this?
"My administration has acted decisively to confront the world's leading state sponsor of terror: the radical regime in Iran. It is a radical regime. They do bad, bad things."
Or this?
"Two weeks ago, the United States officially recognized the legitimate government of Venezuela — (applause) — and its new President, Juan Guaidó. (Applause.)"
Well, yes, probably. But the money quote that government cheerleaders will be shoving down your throat for years to come is no doubt this:
"Tonight, we renew our resolve that America will never be a socialist country."
Ahhh, that's it. Music to the ears of any freedom-loving, libertarian-minded opponent of technocratic government control, right? Right. At the very least it was enough to inspire some congratulatory articles from Trump's base and launch a funny meme or two.
But hey, wait a minute. I've seen politicians lie about things before. Could it be possible—and bear with me, I'm just spitballing here—that this statement might be inaccurate? Why, yes. Yes, it could. So let's examine a few pesky little details that contain some harsh truths that the red cap crowd doesn't want to hear.

We Face a Crisis of Unprecedented Proportions
We are facing an unprecedented crisis in our nation and the Western world. According to statistics released by the CDC in 2008, 1 in 6 children suffered from either autism or some form of developmental problem! Now 10 years later, given the increasing prevalence and current estimates, that number may be as high as 1 child in 4! And, those statistics show that these developmental delays including behavioral and learning disabilities are continuing to increase at alarming rates. And, all of the learning and behavioral conditions have a prevalence much higher in boys. In addition, all across the spectrum, the rates of allergy, asthma and autoimmunity are nearing epidemic proportions. Autoimmunity is where the body's immune system attacks certain tissues or organs. There have been over 100 autoimmune diseases identified now, affecting more than 50 million Americans (that is approximately 1 in 6). The prevalence continues to grow at alarming rates. And, autoimmune diseases have a much higher prevalence in females. (All references are provided in the eBook)
Autism Spectrum Disorder (Autism), is just one of those many conditions that are affecting our children. But it is the condition that get most of the press. The incidence of autism is rising sharply and unabated. The 2014 CDC estimates were that 1 in 45 children were autistic (NHIS data), up from 1 in 150 in 2002 (ADDM Network data), just 12 years prior. Compare that to rates of autism estimated at 1 in 10,000 in the 1950s and 1960s, 1 in 5,000 in the 1970s and increasing to 1 in 300 in the 1990s. (references provided in the eBook)
When the 2018 statistics come out in less than 2 years, it is expected that the rate of autism may be as high as 1 in 25 children, with approximately 4 times as many boys than girls being affected. That means that approximately 1 in 5 boys will be on the autism spectrum!! Many experts believe at the current trajectory, somewhere between the years 2025 and 2032, 1 in 2 boys will be autistic!! In addition, consider the crippling rates of other intellectual disabilities just mentioned. This is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! And collectively, we have to do something to change that.

Even at the conservative projected costs of caring just for autistic individuals, these costs will cripple our economy.
