Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai
Dr. V.A. Shiva Ayyadurai, the inventor of email and polymath, holds four degrees from MIT and is a world-renowned systems scientist. He is a Fulbright Scholar, Lemelson-MIT Awards Finalist, First Outstanding Scientist and Technologist of Indian Origin (STIO), Westinghouse Science Talent Honors Award recipient, and was nominated for the U.S. National Medal of Technology and Innovation. In 1982, the US government recognized Ayyadurai as the inventor of email by awarding him the first Copyright for "Email" at a time when Copyright was the only way to protect software inventions. His interest in human health also began early, when as a child, he observed his grandmother, a village farmer and healer, practice Siddha, India's oldest system of traditional medicine. This motivated his future study and research in systems biology at MIT, leading to his discovery of Systems Health®, a major breakthrough that provides an integrative framework linking eastern and western medicine. His latest invention CytoSolve®, emerging from his doctoral research at MIT, provides a revolutionary platform for modeling complex biological phenomena, to support the development multi-combination medicines without animal testing.

I am running for United States Senate from Massachusetts to be a 21st century Senator. We stand at the crossroads where we can either head into a Golden Age or into the Darkness. Incredible innovation and solutions, which have been created by everyday Americans, already exist for energy, education, health, affordable housing and much more. What stands in the way are the old guard of career politicians, political hacks, lawyer-lobbyists and academics who pervade Washington and local government with corruption and crony capitalism that chokes and suffocates these innovations and solutions from reaching us. America becomes great when innovators, entrepreneurs, working people with skills and those committed to using common sense and reason run this country. The Founders of America were blacksmiths, engineers, soldiers, architects, entrepreneurs, scientists — they actually worked for a living and produced through their labor, products and services to help other citizens.
I stand before you as someone who is a personification of the American Dream. My parents and I left the caste system of India in 1970 where we were considered low caste "Untouchables" and "Deplorables". We first settled in Paterson, NJ and I went through the public school system where I was fortunate to have come across incredibly dedicated teachers, coaches and mentors.
The Real Fighter
On my 7th birthday, in 1970, I left India and came to America: to this land of incredible opportunity. As a kid, I learned from my parents, teachers, coaches, and friends that what mattered most was Truth — to uncover it, share it and fight for it. That core value is THE foundation of the America Dream. And my life has been about fighting for Truth, at every step.

Beyond just Silicon Valley or Kendall Square, let's create 21st century jobs that take advantage of the incredible advances in science, engineering, medicine, and the long-awaited return of manufacturing and fair trade practices. Money goes where there's a stable economy, low inflation and low taxes. Increasing taxes on those who innovate and take risks to deliver jobs will destroy our system. (According to forbes.com, Elizabeth Warren wants a corporate income tax rate of 105%. Our current 35% corporate tax is the highest in the industrialized world.)
Care And Health In "Healthcare"
Neither Obamacare nor RyanCare address REAL "care" or "health." We need CARE that provides choice, accountability and affordability. We need HEALTH that integrates state of the art innovations and discoveries from East & West, Ancient & Modern, Science & Tradition for everyone. We must fast track and deliver those services that our vets need and have been wrongfully denied. We treat illegal immigrants better than our own veterans.
We need secure borders that safeguard our citizens and those that came here legally. Without borders and clear enforcement, we don't have a country.
Most gun owners are law abiding citizens. We must protect their constitutional rights. Chicago has America's strictest firearm laws and has record-breaking gun crime.
Youth learn and prosper from adult role models and their mentoring. We need REAL mentors and need to eradicate those that destroy our youth.
