Patrick M. Wood is editor of The August Forecast and The August Review. The August Forecast provides a succinct look forward to analyze trends relating to markets, economics, politics and finance; The August Review is an historical review of global elitism, its players and policies.
He founded The August Corporation on October 11, 1975. As a registered investment adviser with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the company initially offered portfolio management services to investors in the United States until 1980.
In 1978, Wood commenced publication of The Trilateral Observer (TO), to specifically track and document the activities of The Trilateral Commission, which was then seen to be the very core of elitism and multi-nationalism in the United States and abroad. TO was co-edited by Professor Antony Sutton, formerly a Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution for War, Peace and Revolution at Stanford University.
Wood and Sutton co-authored two successive book volumes, Trilaterals Over Washington — Volume I and Trilaterals Over Washington — Volume II.
Trilaterals Over Washington quickly became a best-seller and over the course of about two years, sold over 75,000 copies internationally. The books were very well received for excellent scholarship and original research, and even became a frequently-used textbook in political science classes at many colleges in U.S. universities.

Thus far in 2016, no national politician is talking about the scores of unelected and unaccountable technocrats throughout the Executive Branch who are choking our nation with anti-prosperity rules and regulations.
Here is my weekly recap of currently hot trends on Technocracy, any of which could make for a good radio discussion.
1. The Internet of Things (IoT) is again being showcased in many large global publications. Gartner projects that 21 billion devices will be connected globally by 2020.
2. GE is dumping CFL lightbulbs in favor of LED bulbs that will ubiquitously connect to the IoT by WiFi and Bluetooth.
3. Britain was shocked that scientists there have been given permission to genetically modify human embryos. This is now blatant eugenics masquerading as legitimate science.
4. On a positive note, 300 truly legitimate scientists are collectively pressing NOAA to stop hiding its fraudulent global warming data.

John W. Whitehead is an attorney and author who has written, debated and practiced widely in the area of constitutional law and human rights. Whitehead's concern for the persecuted and oppressed led him, in 1982, to establish The Rutherford Institute, a nonprofit civil liberties and human rights organization whose international headquarters are located in Charlottesville, Virginia. Whitehead serves as the Institute's president and spokesperson, in addition to writing a weekly commentary that is posted on The Rutherford Institute's website (www.rutherford.org), as well being distributed to several hundred newspapers, and hosting a national public service radio campaign. Whitehead's aggressive, pioneering approach to civil liberties issues has earned him numerous accolades, including the Hungarian Medal of Freedom.
Whitehead has been the subject of numerous newspaper, magazine and television profiles, ranging from Gentleman's Quarterly to CBS' 60 Minutes. Articles by Whitehead have been printed in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post and USA Today, among others.
Whitehead gained international renown as a result of his role as co-counsel in Paula Jones' sexual harassment lawsuit against President Clinton. Whitehead continues to speak out in defense of a woman's right to be free from sexual harassment and frequently comments on a variety of legal issues in the national media. The author of numerous books on a variety of legal and social issues, as well as pamphlets and brochures providing legal information to the general public, Whitehead has also written numerous magazine and journal articles. In addition, he wrote and directed the documentary video series Grasping for the Wind, as well as its companion book, which focus on key cultural events of the 20th Century. The series received two Silver World Medals at the New York Film and Video Festival and is now available on DVD.
Whitehead has filed numerous amicus briefs before the U.S. Supreme Court. He has also been co-counsel in several landmark Supreme Court cases as well. His law reviews have been published in Emory Law Journal, Pepperdine Law Review, Harvard Journal on Legislation, Washington and Lee Law Review, Cumberland Law Review, Tulsa Law Journaland the Temple University Civil Rights Law Review.
Born in 1946 in Tennessee, John W. Whitehead earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Arkansas in 1969 and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1974. He served as an officer in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971.

The State of the Nation: A Dictatorship Without Tears
There's a man who contacts me several times a week to disagree with my assessments of the American police state. According to this self-avowed Pollyanna who is tired of hearing "bad news," the country is doing just fine, the government's intentions are honorable, anyone in authority should be blindly obeyed, those individuals who are being arrested, shot and imprisoned must have done something to deserve such treatment, and if you have nothing to hide, you shouldn't care whether the government is spying on you. In other words, this man trusts the government with his life, his loved ones and his property, and anyone who doesn't should move elsewhere. It's tempting to write this man off as dangerously deluded, treacherously naïve, and clueless to the point of civic incompetence. However, he is not alone in his goose-stepping, comfort-loving, TV-watching, insulated-from-reality devotion to the alternate universe constructed for us by the Corporate State with its government propaganda, pseudo-patriotism and contrived political divisions.

Playing the Government's Game: When It Comes to Violence, We All Lose
A handful of armed protesters are not going to fix what's broken in the government by forcing a showdown with government agents. In fact, this kind of scenario plays right into the government's hands by provoking a violent confrontation that allows government officials to sanctimoniously justify their use of surveillance, military weaponry and tactics, and laws criminalizing guns and hate speech in order to target anyone who even vaguely resembles an "anti-government extremist."
