It's disgusting, yet typical, that this engine/cooler technology was brought to being in 1980s yet the UK Govt tied the inventor into a "National Security" deal that tied them to UK, then they would not allow it in public domain or even use it to further fighter jet technology (at least as far as we know about "nudge nudge, wink wink"). Then we design in partner with other great aircraft companies the outdated EuroTyphoon, no stealth gen 4.5 aircraft and expect us to believe this is what we can attain after the fastest planes emerged (SR71 BlackBird) in 1970s. They keep ALL the great tech from the marketplace. This engine would have totally revolutionised jet aircraft. No need for AVGas just good old cheap Hydrogen. The other benefit, flying space shuttle type craft from normal runways and point them vertical at correct height, then its a rocket engine. So no the UK didn't want to revolutionise ALL Air/Space travel with one invention. I for 1 DON'T Believe IT!!!
