In 1985, I had a slight accident. I had to step to the right each time I exited my basement apartment to avoid hitting the bedframe with my left foot. One time, in a hurry, I didn't step quite far enough to the right. I lifted the (twin) bed off the floor! God, that HURT!!!!! I fell on the bed laughing and swearing. A few minutes later, I got up and went about my business which included buying a new pair of shoes. Two weeks later, my foot was still hurting. I got worried. So I paid a visit to an ER. Entry attendant ordered xrays based on our interview and within 45 minutes I was looking at a Doctor who told me to get a larger size shoe and gave me some megadose calcium tablets (which were amazing in effect, BTW). Total cost: $85. I was living in McLean VA at the time, just outside DC. Those were the days, eh? DC Treybil
