It seems that the domestication process can take many generations. So, what kind of camels would be around before they were domesticated? Wild, tamed camels, of course.
As the generations passed, the camels would become more domesticated as people bred them for domesticated purposes. But, you have to start somewhere. The start would be to take wild camels and tame them, and then breed them. No Bible / history discrepancy.
