1794 was a bad year for gay folk.

Just think, if individuals could sue their state governments, gay rights issues could be resolved at the state level and would not necessarily be forced up to the federal level.

The 11th amendment took that away.

While gays currently enjoy a status of some special protections initiated at the federal level, they are left at its mercy.  If "THUH guvamint" is big enough to provide that protection, it is also big enough to take it away.

Better to blend in with the locals and not engage "THUH guvamint" at any level - local, county, state, federal, international, interplanetary, interstellar, intergalactic, interdimensional, intertemporal, pan-temporal, transtemporal, pan-universal, transuniversal or beyond.
