Police kill eighth-grader after he refuses to drop pellet gun that looked like real weapon

Too many variables (known and unknown) in a situation like this to properly think it through (unless Monday morning quarterbacking). As such, the cops rely on their training. And "shoot in the leg" ain't part of the training. Can't blame the cops really, that pellet gun looks real to me.
