Everyone with any intelligence in the US and around the world knows that there is no way for Washington to manage the tens of trillions in debt and unfunded liabilities short of ultimate repudiation or hyperinflation. 

Nothing could be more wrong, misguided and ill-informed than that statement.   Anyone with any intelligence in the US and around the world knows that if the US stops its warmongering, closes all 800+ military bases it has around the world, brings all the military personnel back home, tax the elite and the corporations, the US would be out of the whole in record time.  However, if you want to use that fallacy to pitch secession from the rest of the country and set an autonomous and (highly likely) very racist state, then, knock yourself out but, please, don't insult the intelligence of others by lumping them into one very narrow and misguided category.

This is in response to Lucky Red's comment. I agree with your statement to cease the military adventures and close the US foreign bases however taxing the "elite" is treading on shaky ground. Who do you consider "elite"? People who make over $250k? I don't.
