And I'll go a step further and say that "America's Christian heritage" is also bullshit, dangerous and backwards. Not that you're looking but, if you were, there really is no difference between your "American Christian heritage" and "Muslim Fundamentalism" from where I'm looking at it.
God, in the year 2009 and there are still people who believe that crap!
There is a difference between separation of church and state, and separation of God from state. I am weary of Christian political activism because it is often without intelligence or principle. While at the same time recognizing the historical fact that the basic fabric of American society among the Founding Fathers was respect of and belief in the Creator and Sovereign of the universe, the Christian religion was not woven into the fabric of our government, and with good reason.
The culture has invaded the churches. I would be afraid to see the unconverted in heart making powerful strides in government power. The pendulum could as easily swing towards ignorant intolerance, as it has swung towards liberalism and amorality in our current day.
If the 'church' has become irrelevant, it is because the church has basically joined the world. That is a spiritual matter, not a political one. If revival and reformation were seen in churches, it is highly unlikely those being elected to public office year after year, would be.
A FOOL says in his heart "there is no God". What should I then believe....evolution??? Talk about a belief system that is affectionately written about by Hitler and Stalin and Marx. A belief system that has no rational basis for its existence. There is nothing concrete in evilotion. Frauds such as Haeckel, Piltdown, the peppered moth, the many assumptions associated with the dating processes, archaeoraptor, Nebraska man or should I say Nebraska Pig, just to name a few. Evolutions fraudulent history is a good demonstration of man's great fear of that glorious day of JUDGEMENT and his continual pursual of something to salve the conscience until then.
