This is pretty much standard mortality rate for flu. Presumably most of the victims fall into the age ranges of under 5 years old, and over 55 years old. Combined with Mexico City's horrid air pollution and you have damaged lung capacity both increasing odd of transmission and death (and increased morbidity) due to diminished oxygen exchange and pulmonary asphyxiation.

Also while this is a rather strange, late flu season for the USA it is still flu season for Central & South America (and the southern part of Mexico).

This is troubling, but I suspect this strain will die off in the next two weeks never to be seen again.

Maybe it`s a good time to close the boarders,or! could it be a good time for our enemies,to keep it open?

You cannot close the borders on influenza (or apparently on people). It is transported by birds, and infects a wide variety of animals.
