Here is the place most of the present-day "big" church leaders miss it:

Matthew 23
29"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. 30And you say, 'If we had lived in the days of our forefathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.' 31So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. 32Fill up, then, the measure of the sin of your forefathers!

Philippians 3
2Watch out for those dogs, those men who do evil, those mutilators of the flesh. 3For it is we who are the circumcision, we who worship by the Spirit of God, who glory in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh— 4though I myself have reasons for such confidence.

It has never been the physical descendants of Abraham except when they believed in the Messiah. If the physical descendants did not believe in the Messiah, then they were not the true descendants of Abraham.

The land of Israel is not the true Israel of God today. It is we, the believers in the salvation of God through Jesus, who are the true Israel.
