Damage to Crimean Bridge Update

by Stephen Lendman

Hegemon USA-dominated NATO is at war on Russia, using expendable Ukrainian Nazis and conscripts as imperial foot soldiers.

Pentagon and CIA elements are orchestrating and directing Ukrainian battlefield and related operations.

Sabotaging the Crimean Bridge on Saturday was the latest example.

While Ukrainian saboteurs committed what was a symbolic, not a strategic, action, what happened was made-in-the-USA.

Hyperventilating hoopla about the incident is way overblown.

According to NYT fake news, damaging the Crimean Bridge "disrupt(ed) the most important supply line for Russian troops (sic)."

And this WaPo rubbish:

"Russia is scrambl(ing) to salvage the Crimean Bridge after fiery explosion (sic)."

And this AP (fake) News perversion of reality:

"An explosion Saturday…damag(ed) an important supply artery for the Kremlin's faltering war effort in southern Ukraine (sic)."

And this National Pentagon Radio (NPR) trash:

"A Russian-built bridge…to Crimea (was) blow(n) up (sic)."

No responsible editors would permit the above trash to be published.

US/Western ones feature it repeatedly while suppressing truth and full disclosure.

Fact check:

Hours after the Crimean Bridge was sabotaged, an undamaged lane reopened for vehicular traffic.

Later in the day on Saturday, rail traffic resumed.

According to Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Marat Khusnullin:

Rail traffic across the bridge "has been fully restored."

"We will allow all scheduled trains — both freight and passenger ones — to pass through."

"We have all technical capabilities to do so."

"If needed, we will provide extra trains to carry passengers" and freight.

Kerch-2 ferry service began operating to supplement rail and vehicular traffic across the bridge.

On Saturday, Vladimir Putin signed a decree, saying:

"The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation shall be vested with the authority to organize and coordinate protection measures for the Kerch Strait transport crossing, the power grid's energy bridge between the Russian Federation and the Crimean Peninsula, along with the main gas pipeline between the Krasnodar Region and Crimea, during their operation."

The decree calls for enhancing security for the Crimean Bridge and gas pipeline across the Kerch Strait.

On Saturday, detonated explosives on a truck damaged the bridge.

According to Russian media, the driver perhaps was unaware of what was planned.

The blast killed him and two other victims.

The truck owner was identified as Samir Yusubov, a Russian national.

Out of the country when the incident occurred, he denied involvement, adding:

His uncle, Makhir Yusubov, was using the truck.

A probe initiated by Russia will set the record straight on who's responsible for what happened.

Bridge damage will be repaired as soon as possible for normal traffic flows to resume.

The Kiev regime's vow to destroy the bridge failed, Saturday's sabotage causing only a minor traffic disruption to and from the mainland.

Hegemon USA and its Ukrainian foot soldiers accomplished one thing alone — more greatly angering the vast majority of Russians, its lawmakers and leadership.

Hammering the regime's military and strategic targets more forcefully will likely follow.

In stark contrast to minor Crimean Bridge damage, payback will likely deliver significant blows to Kiev's war-making machine and facilitating infrastructure.

A Final Comment

Noted military analyst, Andrei Martyanov, explained the following:

"Sabotage at the Crimean Bridge is a classic example of a difficulty terrorist-sabotage groups face when trying to disable a linear target."

"(T)raffic over the bridge is already largely restored, including car traffic using remaining lanes, while railroad is fine and continues to operate, which is important for (supplying) forces in Crimea, including for future operations with the re-deployment through Kherson region."

"Even for PR reasons, Kiev (and its US master), as always, didn't achieve anything of substance."
