Invented State of Emergency Declared in Ottawa

by Stephen Lendman

In cahoots with Trudeau regime tyranny, Ottawa mayor Jim Watson declared a state of emergency over the weekend — a Feb. 6-dated statement saying the following:

"Declaring a state of emergency reflects the serious danger and threat to the safety and security of residents posed by the ongoing demonstrations (sic)…"

It "highlights the need for support from other jurisdictions and levels of government (sic)."

"It also provides greater flexibility within the municipal administration to enable the City of Ottawa to manage business continuity for essential services for its residents and enables a more flexible procurement process, which could help purchase equipment required by frontline workers and first responders."

Signs displayed by freedom-fighting protesters reflect the spirit of why they're out in force in Ottawa and other Canadian cities nationwide.

"Mandate freedom," read one.

"Democracy, Not Trudeaucracy" said another.

Others read:

"Let Me Be Free."

"No Mandates"

No More Mandates"

"F..k Trudeau"

On Sunday, Ottawa police tweeted:

"Anyone attempting to bring material supports (gas, etc.) to the demonstrators could be subject to arrest. Enforcement is underway."

Calling for help, Watson said authorities are "outnumbered…(They're) losing the battle" to freedom-fighting thousands in downtown Ottawa and surrounding areas.

What he and police called "extremely disruptive and unlawful behavior" reflects hardline Trudeau regime policies — tyrannical mandates protesters want rescinded.

Freedom convoy co-organizer Tamara Lich stressed the following:

"Let me assure the people of Ottawa that we have no intent to stay one day longer than necessary," adding:

"Our departure will be based on the prime minister doing what is right: ending all mandates and restrictions on our freedoms."

On Friday, Ottawa police chief Peter Sloly noted that "demonstrators  remain highly organized, well-funded, extremely committed to resisting all attempts to end" their freedom-fighting mission.

According to Ottawa City News, a Change.org petition for mayor Watson and Sloly to resign had 100s of signatures through Feb. 5 — two days after it was initiated.

Over the weekend, thousands of anti-Trudeau protesters came out in Toronto, Quebec City, Vancouver, Alberta and elsewhere in Canada nationwide.

Ignoring 10 days of peaceful protests by Canadian truckers and supporter, NYT fake news claimed the following:

"(T)hings could turn violent (sic)."

Only if initiated by police or other Trudeau regime security forces, the Times left unaddressed.

"Across Canada…thousands of protesters took to the streets for the second week in a row, snarling traffic and disrupting business and residential neighborhoods."

They're out in force against Trudeau regime health and freedom-destroying mandates — in flagrant breach of international law and Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedom — the Times failed to explain.

It reported Trudeau's litany of bald-faced Big Lies — phony accusations of "desecrating war memorials, wielding Nazi symbols, spreading disinformation and stealing food from the homeless (sic)."

It lied about Canadian opinion polls.

Ignoring majority opposition to mandates from hell — explained in previous article — the Times falsely said they've "consistently shown strong support in Canada for" draconian Trudeau regime policies.

Claiming that "protests pose a threat" to public order ignored the reality of what freedom-fighting for denied justice is all about.

Buried well into its Feb 6-dated article and at its end, the Times admitted that days of protests have been "peaceful, even festive," adding:

In Quebec City…(t)housands of people lined the sidewalks, cheering on truckers as they arrived or drove past."

Much the same has been going on in Ottawa and elsewhere in Canada nationwide, the Times failed to explain.
