Media Allied with Trump Regime Anti-Iran Blame Game

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

Hegemon USA's diabolical rage for control over planet earth, its resources and populations threatens everyone everywhere.

Establishment media support what demands denunciation, reflecting their deplorable state. Hostile to peace, equity, and justice, they operate as a collective mouthpiece for malign US hegemonic interests.

Iran is in the eye of the Trump regime's storm, seeking to achieve what its predecessors failed at, wanting the Islamic Republic transformed into another US vassal state — perhaps by brute force if other tactics fail.

Bipartisan hardliners in Washington and their go-along media falsely blame Iran for striking key Saudi oil facilities on September 14.

They're using the incident Yemeni Houthis admitted carrying out to up the stakes against Iran, establishment media acting as their mouthpiece.

On Tuesday, the NYT featured a AP report, saying Trump aims "for a multi-national response to Iran's (nonexistent) escalating aggression (sic)" in prepared remarks he'll deliver at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday," adding:

He "wants allies to join the US in further isolating Iran," sticking with his war by other means on the country, short of military confrontation so far.

He's "expected to use his speech to blame Iran for recent strikes against oil facilities in Saudi Arabia" — no evidence suggests it had anything to do with because none exists, the report failed to stress.

Instead it repeated Iranophobe Pompeo's Big Lie, falsely accusing Tehran of "an act of war" on the Saudis — a US specialty time and again with its imperial partners, never how the Islamic Republic operates left unexplained.

Separately on Monday, the Times said the Trump regime may add cyberwar to attacking the country economically, expressing support for hostile anti-Iran actions by failure to denounce what's flagrantly illegal against a nonbelligerent country threatening no one.

The broadsheet quoted Pompeo's Big Lie, saying the September 14 strike on Saudi oil facilities "was Iran true and true, and the United States will respond" as it sees fit — no matter how unlawful.

Neocon/CIA-connected Washington Post editors falsely accused Iran of "be(ing) behind a devastating attack against Saudi oil infrastructure,"adding:

"The Houthis are telling their interlocutors that they expect Iran to carry out further attacks and do not want to be blamed for them."

After the September 14 incident, Yemeni Houthi spokesman General Yahya Saree said the following:

Its forces "carried out a massive offensive operation with ten drones, targeting the refineries  Abqaiq and Khurais affiliated to Aramco in the eastern region of Saudi Arabia this morning, and the hit was accurate and direct," adding:

Houthi attacks on the kingdom are "within the framework of our legitimate and natural right to respond to the crimes of aggression and the ongoing siege on our country for five years."

"This operation is one of the largest operations carried out by our forces in the depth of Saudi Arabia and came after an accurate intelligence operation and advance monitoring and cooperation of honorable and free mans within the Kingdom."

"We promise the Saudi regime that our future operations will expand further and be more painful than ever as long as it continues its aggression and siege."

"We affirm that our goals bank is expanding day by day and that there is no solution for the Saudi regime except to stop the aggression and siege on our country."

In its latest edition, the Wall Street Journal headlined "Don't Rule Out War With Iran."

Falsely accusing Tehran of "provocations" no evidence suggests its responsibility for, the Journal turned truth on its head, claiming "Tehran has been inching closer to" upping the stakes belligerently — polar opposite how its authorities operate, adding:

Iran "will sooner or later cross a red line that would lead Mr. Trump's political base to support a strong military response."

Will Trump regime hardliners stage a significant Persian Gulf or Hormuz Strait false flag that includes US casualties — used as phony pretext of pushing Trump to a belligerent response?

Nothing is off the table with rage by Machiavellian dark forces in Washington for replacing Iranian sovereign independence with US-controlled puppet rule.
