Get Ready for Son of Stimulus

Written by Subject: Economy - Economics USA
On the August 2n edition of Meet the Press, former congressman Harold Ford, Jr. (D-TN), the chairman of the Democratic Leadership Council, said--ostensibly as an afterthought--that "we may need a second stimulus."

Politicians do not make such statements off the cuff.  Ford's comment is an indication that as the current stimulus package fails to deliver the promised economic recovery, the Obama administration and Congress will begin a public relations campaign to sell the American people on another massive program of government spending and intervention.

Also on Meet the Press was chief economic advisor Larry Summers, watch as he dances around the question of a second stimulus program.
