VW to invest $100m in Scout some 40 years after the original ceased production
Models will be built and sold only in the US and use unique a platform
First models are due to arrive from 2026 with prices aimed start below $40,000

Volkswagen plans to reintroduce the Scout off-road brand in the US that will exclusively sell electric pick-up trucks and SUV, the German car maker has confirmed.
It will invest around $100million in the new Scout brand, with the first models arriving in showrooms from 2026.
