These perceptions are key to the Google machine.  As stated by Julian Assange in his book "When Google met Wikileaks" - Google became the next generation defense contractor.  And modern warfare is about information, not bombs.  Google has been a critical source of information in every major war, political conflict, and now COVID since their existence.  The company has successfully built a revenue model based on advertisers buying traffic from publishers, taking the spread.  Google is such a Monopoly there are few choices advertisers have (alternatives like Facebook do not provide the same ad experience).
