A longtime city employee shot and killed 12 people and injured at least four others after opening fire Friday afternoon in the public works building, making it the country's deadliest mass shooting this year.
Police said officers killed the man, identified Saturday morning as DeWayne Craddock, a long-time engineer with the city, after he fired at them in the city's scenic Municipal Center in Princess Anne, a campus of about 30 brick Colonial-style buildings.
He received basic military training and advanced individual training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He later graduated from Old Dominion University with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
The police chief declined to comment on any possible motive
Craddock's neighbors in the modest Va. Beach neighborhood where he had lived for at least 10 years told NBC News that he was quiet, mostly kept to himself, and that he was "jacked" from spending lots of time at the gym.

He used a "Silencer" so we are going to be hearing a lot about this issue I'm certain. To be fully informed about the issue I suggest this very good article by Chip Saunders "The Gun Dude". Chip is a regular writer on gun issues and tech here on FreedomsPhoenix.
