Facts are to truth as are toothpicks to a tree. It's easier to start with a tree and produce toothpicks than the other way 'round. Media, of all stripes, conveys information, reports facts (if you're lucky). Just as nobody should be looking to the office of POTUS to "fix the country" (thanks James Corbett), neither should anybody be looking to media for the truth. I hope the headline of this article is wrong!!!! (Closing Jefferson quote notwithstanding.) I think our (individual/personal) freedom depends on our (individual/personal) ability to discern the truth. Maybe those old bumper stickers declaring "Turn off your TV!" were right.
