Executive Director of Language of Liberty calls in from Cucuta, Colombia
Joining him are:
Kyle Varner, M.D., LI board member
Maria Alejandro Londoñes, Colombia (Director for Latin America)
Glenn's previous interviews on the Declare Your Independence with Ernest Hancock Radio Show:
Since 2005, Glenn has brought LLI's Liberty Camps and Seminars to over 3200 students in 31 countries, expanding his network of freedom fighters around the world. When not hosting Liberty Camps, Glenn recruits and develops new local partners, teachers, and donors for the Institute. He also enjoys playing classical piano, attending jazz, opera, and folk events, and hiking in the Arizona mountains and desert.
Before co-founding the Institute, Glenn pursued a career in IT development, consulting, and training. He takes special pride in having helped organize the project to translate and publish the works of Ayn Rand into Russian in 1993 — the first time her works could be read in her native language.
Originally from Chicago, now living in central Italy, Glenn has lived in a dozen cities in the US and abroad. He studied languages, finance, and economics at Indiana University. He speaks Italian, French, and a bit of German. Webpage: http://languageofliberty.org/
Kyle Varner is a practicing hospitalist and expert in health care policy. In his upcoming book White Coat Cartel, Dr. Varner reveals the dark side of the US health care market, and passionately advocates freeing the market and developing cash-based services and medical tourism as attractive alternatives to the current compromised system.
He writes, publishes, and speaks frequently at events around the world hosted by the US Libertarian Party, Roads to Freedom, Grassroot Institute of Hawaii, and the Adam Smith Center in Singapore, among others.
Dr. Varner also serves as a director of Liberty International, a non-profit dedicated to promoting free markets and individual liberty everywhere.
Maria Alejandro Londoñes joined our team in summer 2019 and will lead our expansion in Latin America.
She is the National Director in the Colombian Libertarian Movement, working on diverse projects to spread libertarian ideas and gain political relevance. Through her online platform, she advocates for financial freedom and activism.
Maria graduated as a Magna Cum Laude Professional in Finance and International Trade, with a minor in Humanities, from Sergio Arboleda University in Bogotá, and works as a business analyst focusing on emerging markets.
Miguel Alvarez: Colombian engineering student who founded the Cucuta chapter of SFL. He is the one who organized the event today.
Luis Ojeda: Activist for Vente Venezuela who publishes an online infographic series called "infolitics" which reaches about 20,000 readers in Latin America, promoting Libertarian ideas.
David Torres: Vente Venezuela Activist who was involved in the founding of the movement 7 years ago when he was a teenager. He briefly had to leave Venezuela for his safety, but is now back and works as the youth coordinator for his state.
Jesús Noria: Movemiento Libertario Venezuela coordinator for Merida, Venezuela. In April he was kidnapped by Collectivist, handed to the Guardia National Bolivariano, beaten up and threatened for participating in protests against the regime.
