Permanent US Military Naval Task Force to Counter China?
by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)
For the first time in NATO history on Monday, an alliance communique falsely said "China's stated ambitions and assertive behavior present systemic challenges to the rules-based international order and to areas relevant to alliance security (sic)."
US-dominated NATO's "rules-based order" are alliance rules.
They breach fundamental international law in pursuit of the US hegemonic aims.
In sharp contrast, China, Russia, and other nations free from US control comply with principles embodied in the UN Charter and other international law.
Threatening no one, they support a polycentric world order, seeking solutions to crises through diplomacy, not belligerence.
Yet the NATO communique called for confronting nonexistent Beijing "cyber, hybrid, and other asymmetric threats (sic), including disinformation campaigns (sic), and by the malicious use of ever-more sophisticated emerging and disruptive technologies (sic)."
The above is how US-dominated NATO and its complicit partners operate — not China, Russia, and other nations free from their control.
According to a Tuesday Politico report, the (hostile to world peace and stability Biden regime) may establish a permanent US naval task force in the Pacific to counter a nonexistent threat by nonbelligerent China.
Citing anonymous US officials, Politico said the plan "involve(s) creating a named military operation for the Pacific that would enable the (war) secretary to allocate additional dollars and resources to the China problem" that doesn't exist.
So it's being invented as a pretext to increase Washington's military footprint in a part of the world not its own.
There's no menacing Beijing "military buildup and aggressive behavior in the Pacific region."
Hegemon USA and complicit partners tolerate no nations free from their control.
They "undermine global order," not China, Russia or other nonbelligerent nations.
What's going on follows anti-China policies recommended by Biden regime assistant war secretary for Indo-Pacific security Ely Ratner.
Earlier he urged adoption of policies to curb China's technological advances and South China Sea dominance.
He also called for partnering with other nations to confront Beijing on trade and human rights.
According to an unnamed Biden regime official, "(w)e are looking at a number of proposals in the Indo-Pacific…to better synchronize and coordinate (war department) activities."
At this time, how the US military footprint will be increased is still being discussed.
Former Trump regime war department official Elbridge Colby said Pentagon resources will likely be shifted from the Middle East to the Pacific, explaining what he thinks lies ahead as follows:
"The (Pentagon's) task force and the named operation suggest to me that they are going to elevate the oomph and the power of the Western Pacific oriented force," adding:
It's likely to be "focused in the Western Pacific, whether it's focused on China explicitly or implicitly…"
Politico cited unnamed sources saying it'll likely be a Pacific counterpart of US Standing Naval Forces Atlantic focused on Russia.
NATO countries Britain, France, Germany, along with Japan, Australia and other Pacific nations perhaps will be enlisted by the US to contribute forces to an anti-China coalition — on the phony pretext of maintaining regional peace and stability.
Both wings of the US war party consider nonbelligerent/nonthreatening China and Russia mortal enemies.
US war by other means on both countries pushes the envelope toward unthinkable hot war by accident or design.
At this time, a Pentagon carrier strike group in the South China Sea is provocatively close to its territory.
According to the South China Morning Post on Wednesday:
"China's air force sent 28 warplanes into Taiwan's air defense identification zone on Tuesday, a day after a US aircraft carrier group held (provocative) drills in the disputed South China Sea," adding:
"Observers said the show of force by the People's Liberation Army, its largest yet, aimed to send a warning to the United States over the exercises, which were conducted ahead of this week's defense talks with Southeast Asian nations and China."
If conflict erupts near Chinese, Russian, or Iranian territory ahead, it'll be made-in-the-USA like its ongoing or supported wars in the Middle East, Central Asia and elsewhere.
