Iran Warns Trump Regime Against Blocking Its Oil Sales

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

International law is clear, including the UN Charter. Interfering in the internal affairs of other countries is flagrantly illegal.

It's permitted only in self-defense if attacked or in case of an imminent threat too serious to ignore.

The US, NATO and Israel operate by their own rules, flagrantly breaching fundamental international laws repeatedly, accountability never forthcoming - threatening everyone everywhere.

Iran threatens no one. It hasn't attacked another country in centuries, prepared to respond militarily only in defense if attacked - its legal right.

On Tuesday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani warned the Trump regime about attempting to halt its legal oil sales, saying:

"The US should know that we are selling and will continue to sell our oil, and it will not be able to block Iran's oil exports."

"And (the Trump regime) should also know that if it attempts to stop Iran's oil (sales), no oil will be exported from the Persian Gulf."

The US, Israel, its US lobby, and other Zionist ideologues are hellbent for crushing Iran's economy, destabilizing the country, wanting pro-Western puppet rule replacing its sovereign independence.

The Trump regime "failed in launching a coup in our country," said Rouhani, adding its hardliners "were after separating Khuzestan province, imposing sanctions against the country, and undermining Iran's power, but they failed" like numerous times before for nearly 40 years.

"The United States said it would cut off Iran's oil export and business relations, making Iran isolated, but it could not do so and it won't be able to sever our relations with the regional countries" and others, Rouhani explained.

"Our enemies are not able to defeat Iran. We will continue to strengthen our relations with the world despite the US wish. We will expand our trade with the world despite the US wish."

Washington's rage for global dominance aims to transform all nations into US vassal states, war its favorite strategy.

Planned against Iran, it was never implemented. If launched, it would threaten world peace more than any other post-9/11 conflict.

The Islamic Republic is far stronger militarily than Iraq, Libya or Syria. Iranian missiles with destructive warheads can hit Israeli targets accurately, as well as US regional ones.

Last year, senior Iranian official/National Security and Foreign Policy Commission member Mojtaba Zonour warned Tehran would retaliate swiftly if its territory is struck – able to hit regional targets with destructive force in minutes.

"(O)nly seven minutes are needed for (an) Iranian missile to hit Tel Aviv," he said. Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, head of its airspace division, said "(i)f the enemy makes a mistake, our roaring missiles will come down on them."

Islamic Republic Defense Minister General Amir Hatari issued a similar warning. Trump regime hostility toward the Islamic Republic is cause for great concern - war on the country possible if other US tactics fail.

For decades, Israeli regimes urged Washington to wage war on Iran, wanting its main regional rival and others eliminated.

The US and Israel want the Middle East map redrawn, replacing independent governments with pro-Western puppet regimes, balkanizing Iraq, Syria, Iran and other regional countries for easier control, looting their resources, exploiting their people.

Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah earlier warned that Israel, Washington, and their imperial partners intend continued regional chaos - Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Iran prime targets.

Washington doesn't wage wars to quit. Nor will it let peace and stability break out in nations it smashed and wants staying that way, others on its target list.

Its permanent war agenda is humanity's greatest threat. Trump's National Defense Strategy is a blueprint for endless wars of aggression.

His Nuclear Posture Review risks using these weapons for the first time in earnest, even against non-nuclear states.

His National Security Strategy represents what former national security advisor HR McMaster called "a dramatic rethinking of American foreign policy…"

The above policies risk unthinkable nuclear war, risking planetary destruction and all its life forms to advance US imperial aims.

Long ago, US leaders stepped back from the brink. Geopolitical policies of the current regime, Obama, Bush/Cheney, and the Clintons are polar opposite.

Catastrophic nuclear war may be just a matter of time - a major threat Western media ignore.
