Daily Israeli Atrocities Against Palestinians

Daily Israeli Atrocities Against Palestinians

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

Ruthless daily Israeli oppression reflects life in Occupied Palestine. The world community pretends not to notice.

Media scoundrels are silent, ignoring Palestinian rights, supporting Israeli high crimes by failing to condemn them.

It's a daily ordeal, including assaulting peaceful demonstrators, terrifying overnight community raids, mass arrests, torture and other forms of abuse during interrogations, as well as cold-blooded murder -  lawless actions with impunity, the power of a ruthless state imposed on a people for not being Jewish, apartheid worse than South Africa's.

Legitimate nonviolent resistance against Israeli ruthlessness is called terrorism, public criticism of its policies called incitement.

Activists for justice are imprisoned. So are truth-telling journalists, their lives endangering for courageously touching the right nerves.

BDS activism is considered a high crime. So is praying to the wrong god.

In September alone, a joint report by the Palestinian Prisoners Club, the Addameer prisoner support group, and the Al Mezan Center for Human Rights said 431 Palestinians were arrested by Israeli occupation forces, an average of 14 nightly - including 98 children, 11 women and three journalists for doing their jobs.

Over 6,300 Palestinian political prisoners languish in Israel's gulag for wanting to live free in their own land, oppressive occupation ended.

Anyone posting social media material Israel wants suppressed faces possible arrest, prosecution and imprisonment - on charges of incitement, terrorism or whatever else regime authorities claim.

An unnamed Palestinian was arrested for posting "good morning" on Facebook in Arabic. Israel's automated system failed to translate it properly.

No Arabic-speaking police officer read the post. It showed him leaning against a construction site bulldozer where he worked. The Arabic caption said "Good morning."

Israel's automatic system translated it as "attack them" in Hebrew and "hurt them" in English.

The aggrieved Palestinian was luckier than most others targeted. A few hours after his arrest, he was released.

Others overnight Sunday weren't as fortunate. Security force raids arrested and detained 66 West Bank and East Jerusalem Palestinians, mostly adolescents.

According to UN information, Israeli forces conducted 121 search and arrest operations on Palestinian communities from September 26 to October 9 - arresting 205 Palestinians, including nine children, targeted for their ethnicity and faith, not criminality.

Terrorizing Palestinian communities continues daily, no one safe from Israeli viciousness. Virtually all Palestinian households have had a family member, relative and/or friends arrested and imprisoned.

At all times, hundreds are incarcerated uncharged and untried, some for years, indefinitely detained because Israel wants them behind bars, their freedom denied.

Children and women are treated as abusively as adult men. Being Palestinian in a racist Jewish state is a cross an entire people have to bear.
