Hezbollah Leader and Syrian General: US Aiding ISIS

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

I've explained many times in earlier articles that Washington created and supports ISIS, al-Qaeda, its al-Nusra offshoot and other terrorist groups.

Their fighters are used as imperial foot soldiers, aiding them with air cover, deploying them to strategic locations, arming, funding, training, and protecting them, moving them to fight battles in new locations.

Media scoundrels know what's going on but stay silent, pretending US-led forces are combating ISIS in Syria and Iraq. Truth-telling journalists explain otherwise.

Syrian main operational directorate General Ali Al Ali accused Washington of supplying ISIS and other terrorists with arms and munitions, saying:

"We know that the United States delivered 1,421 trucks with military equipment and weapons between June 5 and September 15 this year to terrorists in Syria."

"The weapons were allegedly intended to fight terrorists, but eventually they fell into the hands of militants of the Islamic State and Jabhat al-Nusra."

It didn't happen by accident. Arms are meant for terrorists to combat Syrian and allied forces. Washington's regime change goal hasn't changed even though achieving it is unattainable as things now stand.

Syrian military official Walid Khali explained weapons seized weeks earlier "were delivered to terrorists illegally from abroad. There are over 100 items of small arms and hand-held grenade launchers made in the United States, Belgium and France."

In late September, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov, responsible for counter-terrorism coordination, said ISIS and other terrorist groups keep receiving weapons and other material support from abroad, along with "political cover."

How else could they "resist regular armed forces of several states for so many years."

The US-led "awful smear campaign (against Russian aerial operations helps) justif(y) terrorists' actions against" Syrian and allied forces.

Western and regional countries supplying them aim "to achieve cynical political and geopolitical objectives."

Separately, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said Washington protects ISIS and other terrorists, wants them kept from being "totally annihilated," tries preventing Syrian and allied forces from advancing toward their positions.

They must be totally eliminated to prevent them from launching battles to reclaim liberated areas, Nasrallah stressed. "If we do not continue (combating them they'll) hit again and resume (their) campaign of massacres and terror."

Separately, he stressed how US hardliners and Israel lie about Iran's nuclear program, entirely peaceful with no intention to develop WMDs.

Russia's intervention in Syria at the request of its government turned the tide of battle, its modest aerial forces and supportive ground personnel continue performing heroically.
