Another No-Peace Israeli/Palestinian Peace Plan Coming?

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

Each time the charade resumes, results end the same way, nothing benefitting Palestinians.

Will another round under Trump be different? Not a chance. Talks are a waste of time. Occupation harshness continues, Israel unrelenting in its viciousness, demanding everything, offering nothing in return.

Longtime Israeli collaborator Abbas serves as illegitimate Palestinian president, beholden to Washington and Tel Aviv - betraying his people since involvement in Oslo nearly a generation ago.

The Trump administration has yet to propose anything - other than Zionist son-in-law/senior advisor Jared Kushner on Thursday telling Netanyahu that the administration is "committed to finding a solution that will bring prosperity and peace" to all sides - code language for everything for Israel, nothing for Palestinians like always.

Trump along with Zionists infesting his administration one-sidedly support Israel. It takes a giant leap of faith to believe they'll approach new peace talks any differently from earlier.

Whatever the outcome ahead, occupation harshness won't end. Settlement construction will continue on stolen Palestinian land.

Right of return for its diaspora population is off the table. So is consideration of East Jerusalem as Palestine's exclusive capital.

Palestinian self-determination within June 1967 borders is out of the question. So is giving its people control over their own resources - notably water and offshore hydrocarbon reserves.

Israel will only permit isolated bantustans on worthless scrubland, wanting all valued Judea and Samaria areas for itself.

Ahead of Kushner's arrival, PA official Nabil Shaath reportedly said "there are no great expectations" from his visit - because the Trump administration refuses to give "any special attention or references to the two-state solution and the right of Palestinians in Jerusalem, or even the rejection of Israeli settlements."

Talks are dead-in-the-water before beginning - especially with a geopolitical no-nothing Zionist leading the US delegation.

According to an unnamed PA source, talks won't formally begin without public Trump administration support for a two-state solution, the source quoted adding:

"Netanyahu and his people are interested in removing the two-state vision from the agenda, and we are sure there is American-Israeli coordination on this, and we have also been informed that Arab states support a regional effort at the expense of the Palestinian issue."

Hebrew language Yedioth Ahronoth columnist Yoaz Hendel sees nothing positive from new talks, saying:

"Trump talks in favor of Israel, promises to move the embassy to Jerusalem and appoints Orthodox Zionist Jews to key posts regarding the Middle East."

"In practice, he doesn't do a thing. Anyone who saw him as a messiah will find a false messiah. And that's without knowing what his plans are for his 'ultimate deal' in the Middle East."

Decades of futile talks accomplished nothing but expanded settlements, loss of more Palestinian land, and the futility of thinking another round can make a difference.

Never before, not now, not ahead - as long as Palestinians have no advocates in Washington or other key Western capitals.
