Part 3: Jackpot anchor babies--allowed by a blind-eye US Congress

Part 3: Thousands of cuts that bleed taxpayers to death, changing the language, face and culture of America

As we watch the U.S. Congress drive America into greater consequences of unemployment, unimaginable debt, offshoring, outsourcing and insourcing of jobs, along with total disregard for the U.S. Constitution—they turn a blind-eye to our unguarded borders as well as this phenomenon known as ‘anchor babies’.

Every year, 400,000 pregnant women, some figures show a much higher number, enter the United States illegally to birth their babies on American soil. Their children become instant citizens and their mothers become instant wards of the American taxpayer.   You might say they provide 400,000 cuts to our financial systems that bleed us 24/7.

To give you a rough estimate of the costs: average birth in U.S. hospital: $8,800.00 without complications, by Barbara Feder Ostrov, San Jose Mercury News, 6/12/07. K-12 education at average rate of $9,644.00 per year per child. Breakfast/lunch provided to anchor babies at $5.00 per meal. English as second language at $1,000.00 per year per child. No figures for costs of medical care, assisted housing, special needs children with Autism, Down’s Syndrome or birth defects, and food stamps.

Bare minimum total cost to U.S. taxpayer for one child to age 18: $218,792.00

Bare minimum total cost to U.S. taxpayer for 400,000 anchor babies to 18: $87,526,800,000.00

That’s $87.5 billion dollars of your money for someone else’s kid from a foreign country that lives illegally in the US.  I could not find the figures for the upkeep of their mothers, but their costs run into the billions of dollars also.

In an excellent expose’ by Mark Cromer, www.capsweb.org, senior writing fellow, titled: “American Jackpot: Remaking America by Birthright Citizenship,” he explains phenomenon occurring only in the United States.  No other country in the world allows it.

“With every passing day it is increasingly clear that the allure of birthright citizenship has picked up steam during the past four decades, becoming a runaway train, a human locomotive fueled by Latin America’s entrenched misery that has come barreling across the Rio Grande to demographically explode in major American population centers and—with human densities in urbanized regions reaching critical mass—fans out into the heartland,” said Cromer. “The policy has created a self-sustaining dynamic on a fundamental level; encouraging immigrants to cross the border illegally and then rewarding them when they have a child here by making said baby an instant-citizen and therefore accorded all the rights and privileges afforded Americans; including welfare payments. Perhaps even more potent is their right, once they turn 18, to petition for their immigrant family members to stay in the United States. Thus these babies are far more than euphemistic anchors: they are quite literally paychecks and a membership card into the network of social services offered in America. This powerful dynamic is now pervasive across the nation, resulting in chaotic scenes as American citizens demand enforcement of immigrations laws while immigrants and their advocacy networks decry any effort to deport those here illegally.”

ILLEGAL ALIEN MIGRANTS RUN THE BORDERS FOR BETTER LIFE

“In California, Saul Arellano, the small son of Elvira Arellano, appears at rallies promoting mass amnesty for illegal immigrants and reunification for parents that have been deported with their families in America,” said Cromer. “Saul’s mother was deported (a second time) back to Mexico in the summer of 2007 after she was arrested and convicted of Social Security fraud. Following her conviction she ignored a deportation order, declared she had “a right of sanctuary” and quickly became a cause célèbre among Latino and immigration activists. Just weeks after his mother was deported, immigration activists took Saul to Washington D.C. where he was marched through the halls of Congress with other children of illegal immigrants holding a banner that read “Born in the U.S.A, don’t take our moms and dads away.”

CHANGING THE CULTURE AND FACE OF AMERICA

“Whether they are newborn or teenagers, children born to illegal immigrants in the U.S. are such a rapidly growing population they are driving the sweeping shift of ethnic demographics that is literally changing the face and culture of America,” said Cromer. “The specific number of children born to illegal immigrants each year is difficult to project given the reluctance or inability of the government to accurately account for the size of the illegal immigrant population (estimates range from a low of 12 million to a high 38 million men, women and children) and the mercurial subsistence existence of illegal immigrants themselves. Their numbers are difficult to track. But even conservative estimates by the Pew Hispanic Center put the number at a staggering 300,000 children born to illegal immigrants here annually. Other estimates have the number of children born to illegal immigrants at more than a million annually.”

THE 1986 McCAIN-KENNEDY AMNESTY CREATED FLOOD AT BORDER

“Far from stemming the tide of illegal immigration—which was how the bill’s amnesty provisions were sold to the American people—its enforcement provisions were never carried out and the result was a sustained land rush in anticipation that, sooner or later, another mass amnesty would be granted,” said Cromer.

Run, Squat and Drop

An anchor baby relates his story: “By the time dad had to leave Ciudad Juarez, my mother had borne three of his children, including myself, all in El Paso, on the American side…this was done to help ease the transition from alien status to legal residency,” Rodriguez writes in Always Running. “There are stories of women who wait up to the ninth month and run across the border to have their babies, sometimes squatting and dropping them on the pavement as they hug the closest lamppost.”

Along with displacing Americans from their own country at a cost to all U.S. taxpayers, anchor babies wreak unimaginable damage to our social welfare systems, criminal courts, schools and communities.  They bring with them a culture of poverty and crime heretofore not seen in the United States of America.  Additionally, with high school dropout/flunkout rates averaging from 50 to 76 percent, a new culture of illiteracy rages across our society.

This three minute interview with Adam Schrager on “Your Show” May 4, 2008, NBC Channel 9 News, addresses the ramifications of adding 120 million people to USA in 35 years and six million people to Colorado as to water shortages, air pollution, loss of farmland, energy costs and degradation of quality of life.  In the interview, Frosty Wooldridge explains the ramifications of adding 120 million people to the USA in 35 years. He advances new concepts such as a “Colorado Carrying Capacity Policy”; “Colorado Environmental Impact Policy”; “Colorado Water Usage Policy”; “Colorado Sustainable Population Policy”.  Nationally, the USA needs a "National Sustainable Population Policy" to determine the carrying capacity of this nation for the short and long term.  Wooldridge is available for interviews on radio and TV having interviewed on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and FOX.

@Ross So isn't what you're trying to say, Ross, is that welfare, medicaid, food assistance, and all other government assistance should be eliminated for everybody? That would be the only way to get rid of the overspending problem in govt; you don't have an immigration problem, you have a spending problem. --down with racism -davkiz

The following numbers are subject to change, and the Recession is having an effect on immigration.

If you go to cis you can get all sorts of numbers:
According to the Department of Homeland Security, nearly 60% of illegal aliens are from Mexico and 80% of the total are from Latin America as a whole. A Center for Immigration Studies analysis of 2006 Census Bureau data, which includes legal and illegal immigrants, shows use of welfare by households headed by Mexican and Latin American immigrants is more than double that of native households. Among the findings:

51% of all Mexican immigrant households use at least one major welfare program and 28% use more than one program.

40% use food assistance, 35% use Medicaid, 6% use cash assistance.

45% of all Latin American immigrant households use at least one welfare program and 24% use more than one program.

32% use food assistance, 31% use Medicaid, 6% use cash assistance.
20% of native households use at least one welfare program and 11% multiple programs.

From my experience talking to people who are for closing the borders and not giving foreigners amnesty are just racists in disguise. Does Frosty Wooldridge hate brown people? Sounds like it to me. Again withe the fear, fear, FEAR!!! And no meaningful solutions. I'm disgusted by reading this crap on a pro-freedom, pro-liberty website like Freedom's Phoenix. -davkiz
