More About: Politics: General Activism

We might be a big tent but the cover charge is steep.

The movement is suddenly beset by those who agree with us. Moreover, many of these sudden converts would now articulate on behalf of true conservatives. When did we ever get so popular?  But there's a backlash and it's been building since day one. No way. It ain't gonna wash.

Not one of these makes our grade. They are (or were), bar none, cheerleaders for war, empire building and the state every step of the way. They each attacked free speech, open dissent and the patriotism of all those who questioned Bush II policies and that, dear patriots, means US.

Where were these people during the campaigns? On the other side, that's where. For your O'Reilly/Hannity/Coulter/Limbaugh types (let's call them "the Foursome of Apocalypse"), their present attack of Obama is as predictable and intellectually and ethically vacuous. Just like their rabid support of Bush II.

For Glenn Beck, the ultimate Johnny-come-lately, let me ask him where his "libertarianism" was in the run-up to the gulf wars? What was he doing about false intelligence when it would have made a difference? Where were his deeper insights about Austrian economics in the past 5 years? Where was he and what was he doing?

I'll answer that. He was doing what he was told. He was cheerleading for war. He implied that dissenters should be dealt with by the military! He's doing that now. His handlers think we're onto popular resentment (gee, wow) and they are letting him exploit it.

The whole thing would be entertaining if not for the fact that these louts have a chance of somehow articulating for conservativism. The O'Reilly's and Hannities and Limbaughs have isolated themselves and the narrow set of RINOs they preach to. It's the Becks that really are starting to bother me.

It's everyone who is jumping on our bandwagon because they are suddenly feeling it in their pocket. These are the "economic libertarians". They don't care about war and empire building as long as it's paying off. They don't care about your natural liberty or freedom as long as they have theirs. They infallibly support "rule of law" because it never impacts them much. They are, by character and by deed, statists like Bob Barr.

LET ME STATE THIS EXPLICITLY: WE DON'T WANT MAINSTREAM ATTENTION AT THE RISK OF BECOMING MAINSTREAM.

The LPUS libertarians tried it. They said "we have to soften our position to ever be accepted by the mainstream". And look where it got them. They migrated to the center, the R3VOlUTION came in to the right of them, Barr snubbed the movement and now they are essentially left with two choices: re-integrate with the GOP or disband. There's no way back for LPUS. Once you've sold out our values, we who kept them will remember.

Now we're our own media. Our relentless efforts at education have achieved critical mass. We don't need the airwaves, we have "ourwaves". We're contacting people at the street level, person-to-person. I'm loving it personally. I don't want the MSM anymore, I want it broken and reduced in stature the point it deserves: let them blog and Youtube along with the rest of us. That's what's really happening here. The MSM "bubble" is getting marked-to-market. Their credibility is destroyed by their own doing. Increasingly when people turn on their "morning show" they see through and are disgusted by the facade.

WE TOLD THEM THE TRUTH.  NOW THEY ARE GETTING IT. SO NOW WE WATER DOWN THE MESSAGE?

Yeah what a smart move that would be. Just when people need our clean, fresh and pure alternative, we'll just blend it into the shitstream. That will make it really easy for them to tell the difference.

We shouldn't be mollycoddling Glenn Beck, we should be chastising him with a scourge. We should be sitting him down for a schooling. I'm talking about a mean-Marine style a dressing-down. Seriously, among us in this movement of warriors and scholars and those who have braved incarceration for our beliefs, can somebody tell me what this little dolt of a Beck is doing running along side the movement and yapping at our heels?

Now of course, the ever cordial Dr. Paul is not always the one we'd put forth to something so undignified as dressing down the troops, there should be generals to do that. So there's one fellow I'd like to see take some responsibility on this matter.

JUDGE NAPOLITANO, THE STIGMA ATTACHED TO FOXNEWS IS IRRECONCILABLE IN THE MOVEMENT. YOUR LEADERSHIP POSITION IS COMPROMISED BY NATURE OF IT'S OFFICE AND IT'S OWNER RUPERT MURDOCK.

For the well-beloved Judge, there are two alternatives: kick Beck off your show, banish him forever and try to make an impact in FoxNews culture or leave it. Leaving it would strengthen our growing number of internet video broadcast shows and further weaken the MSM.

I can't say the MSM has done us no good atall. Peter Schiff almost single-handedly proves this and the hightened exposure for Dr. Paul has been fantastic. But here we go again. CFL just met in Missouri and I'm watching it on YouTube. As usual, it's our own media channels that are doing the job.
