The Sacramento City Attorney's Office in California's capital told a Target retail store location it will be fined under a "public nuisance charge" if employees continue calling police when the store is robbed.

Crime is apparently so out of control in the city that the Land Park Target location was phoning in shoplifting incidents too often for local authorities.

The Sacramento Bee reports Sacramento Target locations called law enforcement 375 times in 2023, 175 in 2022, and 87 in 2021.

These numbers show the first half of 2024 was likely exceeding last year's insane robbery count for the stores.
