Vivek Ramaswamy Responds to Backlash Over His Answer on if 9/11 Was an 'Inside Job'

• By Lorri Wickenhauser

During an Aug. 2 BlazeTV interview with Alex Stein, the 37-year-old entrepreneur was asked his opinion as to whether 9/11 was an "inside job" or "exactly like the government tells us."

"I don't believe the government has told us the truth," the candidate responded. "Again, I'm driven by evidence and data. What I've seen in the last several years is we have to be skeptical of what the government does tell us.

"I haven't seen evidence to the contrary, but do I believe everything the government told us about it? Absolutely not," Ramaswamy said. "Do I believe the 9/11 commission? Absolutely not."

Fellow Republican presidential candidate Mike Pence, among others, announced that he was "deeply offended" by Ramaswamy's comments.

An opinion piece by the Wall Street Journal's editorial board took the opportunity to skewer Ramaswamy, alluding to insinuations that he is "too young and inexperienced" and accusing him of gathering information from "an Alex Jones broadcast."

"More such flights into political exotica will encourage many voters to conclude that Mr. Ramaswamy isn't ready for his close up, much less the demands of the Presidency," the Journal cautioned.
