Afterwards, investigators found links to multiple Chinese firms and individuals.

On-site inspections conducted between April and June reportedly discovered "unsafe and unsanitary conditions" as well as improperly stored blood, bodily fluids, human and animal tissue, in addition to 20 infectious agents including E. coli, tuberculosis, streptococcus, hepatitis, malaria, HIV and Rubella and a lot of infected mice.

"With the assistance of a veterinarian, the city euthanized 773 mice with 178 mice found to be already deceased at the time of execution of the abatement warrant," court documents stated.

"These people are healthcare terrorists," Prof. Peter Pitts, president of the Center for Medicine in the Public Interest, told the Daily Caller: "Even if they were trying to do real experiments, they are just as guilty — and dangerous."

"A fire or an earthquake or even theft could put thousands of unsuspecting people at risk — and even worse if these agents got into the local water supply."

An even bigger concern is whether this lab is part of a larger, secret, Chinese effort to create deadly bioagents inside the United States.

Investigation into the lab's purported operating company, Prestige Biotech Inc. (PBI), by The Daily Caller, shows ties to multiple related Chinese pharmaceutical firms. PBI itself is the successor of a now defunct company, Universal Meditech, Inc, (UMI).
