Where Did the Ideology and Concept of Transgender and No-Gender Come From?

Op-Ed & Film Review by Caroline Chang

This past weekend I watched the documentary film "What Is A Woman?" by Matt Walsh. It is a very good film; I highly recommend everyone to watch it. The most important thing I learned from this film was the history of the concept and ideology of Transgender and No-Gender.

There have always been homosexuals since the beginning of time. Personally, I believe a person's sexual orientation and preference is innate and they are born with this preference. However, the entire concept of transgender and no-gender is very recent in our culture.

I Was a Tomboy!

When I was a very young child, I was a tomboy! I loved playing with things that were meant for boys. I loved baseball, climbing trees, wearing jeans, and doing everything my older brother liked to do. I was always told by my parents, that is not ladylike, and that is not meant for girls. I hated what was meant for girls, like dresses and dolls.
