His comments came last weekend after 12 Chicagoans were murdered and 53 shot.

Memorial Day weekend was a big test for the new mayor, whose investment in yellow-vest "Peacekeepers" and anti-violence programs failed to stem the bloodshed.

That weekend was bad enough, but now he's got another weekend of 10 murdered and 52 shot (as of 5pm Sunday).

A 70-year-old man was killed and another wounded in a shooting Saturday morning in Englewood on the South Side. 

Hours earlier, a 31-year-old man was fatally shot in the city's South Shore neighborhood. 

Just under three hours earlier, a 32-year-old man was shot and killed in North Lawndale. 

About two hours before that, a 23-year-old man was fatally shot while sitting in his car in the Austin neighborhood.
