Despite ongoing issues reported about electric vehicles (EVs) over the years (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7), the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) received $7.5 billion to install 500,000 more EV stations.  Despite ongoing issues reported about "Smart Cities" over the years (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8), the DOT has sponsored their creation.  Current Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigeg is a big fan too.  Now the DOT has $1B to address past harmful municipal projects.  Think the agency will try to incorporate more controversial and risky EV infrastructure and "Smart City" technology in its efforts?
