In July of 2020, at the height of the protests, a family attempted to drive their Jeep through the crowd on the highway. A protestor allegedly reached for their firearm and began shooting. While the terrorist was allegedly trying to shoot at the driver of the vehicle, protestors were also caught in the crossfire.
"While the protestors were walking on I-225, a vehicle decided to drive through the crowd.
A protestor decided to fire off a weapon, striking at least 1 other protestor.
They were transported to the hospital in stable condition."
Two shots were fired and hit the back of the Jeep. Two additional shots hit other protesters. One man was shot in the leg, and another was wounded in the head. One woman broke her leg when she fled from the highway.
The driver of the vehicle contacted the police after the incident and was not charged.
