Former New York City Mayor Bill de Plasio is reportedly considering running for Congress 

The New York Post reported Wednesday that de Blasio is eyeing New York's 11th Congressional district

Thanks to redistricting the GOP-held district will include de Blasio's liberal Brooklyn neighborhood of Park Slope 

The seat currently belongs to Republican Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, who is already being challenged by Democrat Max Rose, who formerly held the seat 

De Blasio's interest in staying involved in politics is irking party members, who don't want to throw money at a protracted Democratic primary
