Missouri governor set to sign bill voiding federal gun laws

• The BL

Following the Biden administration's planned regulations to regulate rifles with stabilizing braces, Missouri Gov. Mike Parson (R-Mo.) will sign legislation prohibiting state law enforcement agencies from enforcing new federal gun restrictions.

According to Parson's spokeswoman Kelli Jones, the Republican governor will sign the "Second Amendment Preservation Act," which states that Missouri courts and law enforcement authorities must safeguard residents' rights to keep and bear guns under the Second Amendment. It also proclaims federal laws that violate that right to be null and void, the Kansas City Star reported.

"The Governor is aware of the legal implications of this bill, but also that, now more than ever, we must define a limited role for federal government in order to protect citizen's rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution," Jones said in a statement to news outlets on Thursday, June 10.
