The video published in the local media Irish Inquirer reproduces the recording of Sweeney inside the church located in Athlone, a town located almost in the center of the island, which became a nightmare for his family, reports the alternative media Inside Paper of May 3. The video went viral on social media, and two days later, at 3 A.M., police raided Sweeney's home and took his children away, claiming they were concerned about the 'mental health' of the citizen who snitched on them and said he needed medical assistance. 

Sweeney contacted Twitter user Philip Dwyer, who spread the word about the police hit-and-run and asked for support for Sweeney. 

"Just been contacted by Pat Sweeney, the man who videoed the Gardai in a church in Athlone last week that went viral," Dwyer denounced Dwyer.

He added: "The Gardai [police] have taken his two children from him last night at 3.30am. If you are near Longford please head to the Garda station to support him. Please share this.."
