Ventura County Board of Supervisors Throw Out Charges Against Defiant Restaurant Owners

• needtoknow.news, Peggy Hall and KUSI News

Peggy Hall explains that, if there is no law or regulation on the books requiring repeated closures, restricted capacity, outdoor dining, social distancing, take-out, or masks, there is no violation of law. Laws must be passed through the legislative body with a code of law and accompanying number. No emergency or pandemic suspends the law.

Last month, businesses in Carlsbad, California started a Constitutional peaceful protest against business closures by opening their establishments and ignoring the shutdowns that caused great economic harm to them, their employees, and the community. An estimated 60% of restaurants that closed down have gone out of business and will not come back. Since the initial protest, 600 businesses joined together to defy business closures and have vowed to stand firm in the future. -GEG
